Tackling Wicked Problems: How Data Integration and Interoperability Promote Transdisciplinary Solutions

The world is increasingly complex. Social and ecological data are incomplete, and the problems may never definitively be solved. This session will inspire participants to build data access, expand data providers and consumers, and inform place-based management. We will feature TED-style talks on how information comes together to address regional-scale issues and tackle wicked problems.

This session will be an opportunity to share data challenges, describe the creative solutions to solve these issues, describe any roadblocks, and share ways that others may apply what they have learned. A few examples of topics that might be covered are collaborations with private industry, crowd-sourcing initiatives, and novel or alternative applications of technology.
