Co-Chairs: Nancy Ritchey / Nazila Merati
Location: Emerald 1
.
Data archiving can give data a new life by opening it up to different users through new access and discovery tools. This session will explain what is required to get data archived, including the scope of the data collection, retention policies, data formats, and metadata. NCEI will step through the process, highlight documentation, and identify points of contact along the way.
.
Presentations (abstracts in this Google doc):
1. Carrie Wall: SanctSound: storing and serving high volumes of data to enhance access and exploration
2. Sarah O'Connor: Debunking the Myth - NCEI Really Does Archive NOAA’s Social Science Data
3. Don Collins: Maximizing Send2NCEI to efficiently archive small data collections
4. Aaron Sweeney: Automated Visualization Aids in Monitoring and Reporting of Ingest Failures
5. Seth Urion: NMFS Bagit Utility: A cross-platform tool for constructing Bagit Archives
.
